- Carson City Mint only struck coins for 21 years, making it the shortest running Mint in US history
- Carson City Morgan Dollars were only struck for 13 years
- Absolute Rarity: 1880-CC has a minuscule mintage of only 591,000 coins
- Absolute Rarity: 1880-CC Rev. Of ‘78 has a minuscule mintage of only 99,000 coins
- Absolute Rarity is when so few coins exist that finding one in any condition is difficult to do
- Due to the Pittman Act of 1918, nearly half of all Morgan Dollars were melted down
