- The Carson City Mint only struck Morgan Dollars for 13 years, from 1878 to 1893
- The Pittman Act of 1918 called for the melting of 270 million Morgan Silver Dollars, accounting for 40% of all Morgans struck
- The only way that these coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition today is due to the GSA Hoard
