- Due to the Pittman Act of 1918, nearly half of all Morgan Dollars were melted down, making Brilliant Uncirculated examples like these difficult to acquire
- Only about 2% of all Morgans have survived in Brilliant Uncirculated condition
- The only way that these coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition today is due to the GSA Hoard
- These examples are housed in their original GSA packaging
- The 1878-CC is the first year of issue for the Morgan Silver Dollar series
- Only 2.7% of the entire 1878-CC mintage was found in the GSA Hoard
- Absolute Rarity: 1880-CC Mintage of just 495,000 coins
- Only 26.6% of the 1880-CC mintage was found in the GSA Hoard
- The Carson City Mint has the lowest total mintage of Morgan Dollars, even lower than the one-year-only Denver issue
