Set of 8: Everest IV Morgan Dollar Collection Brilliant Uncirculated

Description

The Morgan Dollar, designed by George T. Morgan, was minted from 1878 to 1904 and for one final year in 1921. This eight-coin set is a wonderful start to your collection as it contains silver Morgan Dollars struck at four of the five mints that produced the coin series. Early San Francisco examples of the Morgan Dollar such as 1880-S and 1881-S are known for their full, intricate strikes and lustrous surfaces, making them favorites among numismatists. The 1891-CC Morgan Dollar included in this set is of the VAM-3 variety, also known as the ''Spitting Eagle.'' The reverse die identified as VAM-3 is notable as a chip has been gouged out between the upper and lower beak points, giving the illusion that the Eagle is spitting. Out of every 1891-CC Morgan Dollar struck, significantly less than 1% of the total mintage are VAM-3 examples. This Everest Collection includes the 1880-S, 1881-S, 1882-S, 1883-O, 1884-O, 1885-O, 1887-P, and the 1891-CC VAM-3 ''Spitting Eagle'' Morgan Dollars. Displayed in a beautiful black velvet lined case, this set of eight Everest Morgan Dollars makes a wonderful beginning or addition to your collection.
