Known as The Strange World of Planet X when it was released in Britain, this original film poster is for the American release of Cosmic Monsters. As part of the science-fiction film boom of the 1950s, the film poster displays a cartoonishly large mutated spider approaching a woman with her arms held up defensively. One of the final films released by DCA, Cosmic Monsters was a double feature with The Crawling Eye. Measuring 27 x 41 inches, this is an unrestored poster from 1958 that displays signs of use, including light edge or fold wear, a few chips in the folds, tape stains, and faint image ghosting in the credits area. There is a piece of cellophane tape bracing some crossfold separations in the center of the verso that is visible on the front. An original poster in this style and graded in Fine/Very Fine condition is truly difficult to acquire.
