This original 1917 “U.S. Marines, Active Service” poster is graded in Fine/Very Fine condition. With America's entry into World War I, all the branches of the military geared up quickly to meet the demands of the American Expeditionary Forces under General John J. Pershing. Artist Sidney Reisenberg emphasizes in this original poster from 1917 the pride and sharpness of the Marines in this appeal to recruits. Signs of use found on this vintage poster include slight edge wear, creases, minor chips, and some tears. One of the tears has been braced with paper tape on the verso.
