Norman Rockwell, "Sneaking Out"

Description

Norman Rockwell`s "Sneaking Out" is one of Rockwell`s many illustrations of Mark Twain`s "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer." Rockwell`s illustrations of "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" rank among the best. This is due to the fact that Rockwell was the only illustrator at the time to have visited Mark Twain`s boyhood town of Hannibal, Missouri. By visiting Hannibal, Rockwell was able to depict the scenes in "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" like they had never been depicted before. In this scene, Tom Sawyer`s boyish curiosity is exemplified as he sneaks out of the top window of his home to meet Huck Finn in the graveyard.
