Civil War Pistol Box "S16" 6" x 4"

This is a genuine example of a pistol box that was used by a Union soldier in the United States Civil War from 1861 to 1865. Pistol boxes like this one were a primary means of storage during the Civil War and were used extensively. This particular example has its original belt loops still intact and has a small engraving on the front that reads, “S16.” The wear on this pistol box is typical given its age, and its usage in the war makes it a highly coveted artifact.
