The American Silver Eagle, designed by John Mercanti, began its mintage in 1986 and continues to be struck to this day. This 2017-W American Silver Eagle comes from the illustrious West Point Mint Hoard and has been graded a perfect Proof 70 Ultra Cameo by NGC. Generally, when a hoard is discovered by the Mint, the coins are immediately melted down. However, due to the current high demand for precious metals, the U.S. Mint has decided to release these exclusive coins in 2020. These 2017 West Point Mint Hoard American Silver Eagles will each come with a label that secures that history as they display the special West Point Mint Hoard pedigree.
