The Morgan Dollar, designed by George T. Morgan, was minted from 1878 to 1904 and once again in 1921. In 1892, the San Francisco Mint struck 1,200,000 examples of the Morgan Dollar. This example has been graded in Mint State 61 condition. Out of all 1892-S Morgan Dollars, only 21 have been graded in MS61 condition with just 87 finer known examples. With so few examples graded higher than this one, this stunning coin is not only a Condition Rarity, but is also among the finest known examples of the issue.
