This specific example has been graded in Mint State 64 condition and comes from the SS Central America shipwreck. Out of all 1856-S Liberty Head Double Eagles struck, only 46 examples have been graded in MS64 condition with only 14 finer known examples. With so few examples graded higher than this one, this stunning coin is not only a Condition Rarity but it is also among the finest known examples of the issue.
