In fact, many are even harshly cleaned or damaged in some way. This example from the Charlotte Mint in 1854 is among the finest known in Mint State 62 condition. Only 11 examples have achieved this grade and just 2 are graded higher. With a minuscule mintage of only 7,295 coins, such a low MS62 population, and so few finer known, this stunning gold coin is not only an Absolute and Condition Rarity, but also among the finest known.
