1891-CC Liberty Head Gold Double Eagle PCGS MS61
The 1891-CC Liberty Head Gold Double Eagle has one of the lowest mintages of gold coins struck at the Carson City Mint of the Wild West. A minuscule 5,000 examples of the Liberty Head Double Eagle were struck at the Carson City Mint in 1891. Between PCGS and NGC only 463 examples have been graded in any condition at all. This 1891-CC Liberty Head Double Eagle is one of just 29 graded in Mint State 61 condition with just 16 graded higher. Considering the low mintage and even lower MS61 population, this coin is not only an Absolute and Condition Rarity, but also one of the finest know of the issue.
