The year 2021 marked the most significant change to the American Silver Eagle series to ever occur, as John Mercanti's legendary heraldic eagle design was replaced after thirty-five years of production. As the final year of issue for John Mercanti's heraldic eagle design, the 2021 Type 1 ASE issue will always be among the most sought-after in the entire series.  This set includes both Type 1 and Type 2 2021 Proof examples from the West Point Mint graded in near-perfect Proof 69 Ultra Cameo condition. To add to the rarity of this set, the 2021-W Type 1 example is housed in an Advance Release holder hand-signed by John Mercanti. With mintages of 327,440 and 300,000 examples respectively, the 2021-W Type 1 and 2021-W Type 2 American Silver Eagles are both considered Absolute Rarities.
