Complete Set of 17: 2006-W 2022-W Burnished American Silver Eagles NGC MS70 Reagan Mercanti Label - Silver - Coins

Description

This complete set of Burnished ASEs features every release from 2006 to 2022, all in perfect Mint State 70 condition. The planchets of burnished ASEs have been polished prior to striking, giving them a unique finish unlike any other American Silver Eagle. All of the coins are hand signed by designer/engraver of the iconic Type 1 design, John Mercanti with 2021 and 2022 hand signed by Type 2 engraver Michael Gaudioso.

This complete set of Burnished American Silver Eagles includes:

  •   2008-W Reverse of 2007, the rarest variety with only 47,000 struck
  •   2011-S, only released with the 25th Anniversary Set with a mintage four times lower than the 2011-W
  •   2016-W, the only Burnished ASE with a lettered edge, struck to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the series
  •   2021-W Type 2, the first Burnished example with Emily Damstra’s new reverse design, signed by the engraver Michael Gaudioso

The American Silver Eagle began production in 1986 and continues to be minted to this day. Struck from one ounce of pure 99.9% silver, the American Silver Eagle is the largest Silver Dollar to be struck in American history. The first Burnished American Silver Eagle was struck in 2006 at the West Point Mint and utilizes a unique strike style. The planchets of burnished ASEs have been polished prior to striking, giving them a unique finish unlike standard American Silver Eagles. Burnished ASEs are known for having much lower mintages than their standard counterparts. This complete set includes every Burnished American Silver Eagle struck, including the 2008-W with Reverse of 2007, all graded in perfect Mint State 70 condition. In 2008, the US Mint struck a small number of burnished ASEs featuring the reverse of 2007, which is noted by the lack of a serif on the U in “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”. Less than 10% of all 2008-W Burnished ASEs are of the Reverse of 2007 variety. This set also includes the monumental 30th Anniversary 2016-W Burnished example which showcases a lettered edge. As each example in this set has a mintage less than 650,000 coins, every single Burnished American Silver Eagle is an Absolute Rarity.
