The Lincoln Cent series began in 1909 to mark the centennial of Abraham Lincoln`s birth. Victor D. Brenner was asked to create the iconic design which features a portrait of Lincoln dressed in a suit facing to the right. The reverse of the coin featured two stocks of wheat with the words "ONE CENT" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" in the center. This Gem Brilliant Uncirculated example features bright red coloring, was struck at the Denver Mint, and has been graded MS66RD.
