Civil War Navy Fuse Box PHILA Markings 5" x 3.5"

This late-war Navy fuse box was used during the U.S. Civil War to hold fuses for artillery. It is in outstanding condition for its age and the leather is very supple, with no drying or cracking. Although this fuse box shows a little wear on the top, it still has its original belt loop intact. The front of this fuse box displays a clear maker’s mark that reads, “NAVY YARD PHILA 1863,” indicating this box’s location and year of manufacture.
