This Model 1855 Civil War Cartridge Box is in great condition with nearly all of its original pieces intact. The box’s chocolate-colored leather is soft and pliable, with very little cracking and flaking. This cartridge box still has its original US oval belt plate, buckles, tins for ammunition and maker’s mark on its interior. A small portion of the tab for its flap is missing, but this is very typical for early war cartridge boxes.
