The Gold Centennial Walking Liberty Half Dollar, based on Adolph A. Weinman’s original design, was specially struck in 2016 to honor the 100th anniversary of its introduction to American coinage. Marking the first time that the U.S. Mint contracted outside artists for designs, the Walking Liberty Half Dollar was part of the American Coin Renaissance. Started by President Theodore Roosevelt, the American Coin Renaissance was marked by stunning designs created by well-known artists. Struck from .999 fine gold, this ½ oz coin is slightly smaller than the original Walking Liberty Half Dollar and has been graded in perfect Specimen 70 condition. With a miniscule mintage of only 64,441 examples, this coin is an Absolute Rarity.
