Set of 3: 1965-1967 SMS Kennedy Half Dollars NGC MS67 Cameo Aspiration Label includes signed soft cover 3rd ed Franklin/Kennedy book

The Kennedy Half Dollar, designed by Frank Gasparro and Gilroy Roberts, was first minted in 1964 and continues to be produced to this day. This set contains one Kennedy Half Dollar from each year that Special Mint Sets were produced, all graded in Mint State 67 Cameo condition by NGC. From 1965 to 1967, the U.S. Mint created Special Mint Set Kennedy Half Dollars instead of proof examples. Similar to Proof examples, Special Mint Set coins were struck using polished dies. Unlike Proof examples these coins were not struck multiple times or individually handled, making high grade examples difficult to acquire. To tie it all together, these coins will come with the NGC exclusive “Aspiration” holder, which is a collaborative effort between Rick Tomaska and NGC. These renowned holders are only given to Kennedy Half Dollars that Rick Tomaska has inspected and deemed to exhibit the highest quality luster and eye appeal for their year and grade. Each of these SMS Kennedy Half Dollars have MS67 Cameo populations under 1% of their total mintages, making each of them a Condition Rarity. To increase your numismatic knowledge, a copy of Rick Tomaska’s informative and comprehensive "A Guide Book of Franklin & Kennedy Half Dollars” is included with this set
