Historic San Francisco Gold Coins! Set of 2: 1914-S & 1915-S Saint-Gaudens $20 Gold Double Eagle MS64

The Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, was minted from 1907 to 1933. Often considered the most beautiful piece of coinage struck in American history, the Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle is truly an iconic coin. These stunning examples were struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1914 and 1915. With both coins having Mint State 64 populations less than 1% of their respective mintages, they are considered true Condition Rarities. With a miniscule mintage of only 567,500 examples, the 1915-S Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle is also a tremendous Absolute Rarity. Coins like these 1914-S and 1915-S Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagles became increasingly rare as a result of President Franklin D. Roosevelt signing Executive Order 6102 in 1933. This order sought to revive the American economy by recalling circulating American gold coins to be melted down.
