Created to honor the restoration of peace to the world after World War I concluded, the Silver Peace Dollar is one of America's most renowned coins. Peace Dollars struck in 1928 come from the final consecutive year of mintage before a 5-year hiatus for the series. With the lowest mintage of the series at only 360,649 examples, the 1928-P Peace Dollar is known as the key date of the series.
