"Beatles Special Look Magazine" 1967 Set of 4 Personality Prints and Personality Banner

Description

These original 1967 Beatles posters come from the Look shoot by photographer Richard Avedon. In 1967, at the apex of the "Flower Power" era, Look Magazine commissioned famed photographer Richard Avedon to do a set of individual portraits of the members of the most popular rock and roll group of the day - the Beatles. After appearing in the magazine, Look offered the photos as a set of four prints. These original 1967 posters, in all their "far-out" colors, can truly be called psychedelic. John Lennon's kaleidoscope eyes, George Harrison as a mystical guru, Paul McCartney with his flowers, and Ringo Starr with the dove of peace, perfectly capture that fleeting moment in history. Also included is a landscape photographic portrait print of the Fab Four by Avedon done for Look. All of the posters are in near perfect condition. The landscape black and white poster has minor surface creasing. The original cardboard shipping box is included. Also included in this lot is the original Look Magazine, cover dated January 9, 1968. The magazine is incomplete as the pullout portfolio featuring the four Beatle portraits has been removed. The rest of the magazine is there however, with its special look at the arts in the 1960s.
