The year 1950 marks the return of the proof issue for the Washington Quarter as it had not been struck since 1942. Each of the examples in this set have mintages under 250,000 coins, making them Absolute Rarities. Each of the 5 coins in this set has been personally inspected by numismatic author Rick Tomaska to ensure the highest eye appeal and quality. Recognizing the extreme rarity of these coins and in deference to Rick Tomaska’s expertise, coins from the Signature Series have their own NGC registry point score which is higher than Washington Quarters in the standard holders.
