The Indian Head Gold Half Eagle, designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, was minted from 1908 to 1916 and once again in 1929. This innovative sunken relief design is the first and only of its kind, making this US coin among the most treasured to ever be struck. This set of three includes the 1908-P, 1911-P, and 1914-D issues, each graded in Mint State 62 condition. Only five issues of the Indian Head Half Eagle were struck at the Denver Mint, with the 1914-D having a minuscule mintage of only 247,000 coins. With the 1908-P and 1911-P issues having similarly low mintages of only 577,845 and 915,000 examples respectively, each coin in this set is an Absolute Rarity. Each coin in this set also has MS62 populations less than 1% of their respective mintages, making them all Condition Rarities as well.
