5 set of 2: 1976-S & 1978-S Eisenhower Dollars NGC PF69 UCAM Tomaska Signature I Like Ike Label

Description

The Eisenhower Dollar, designed by Frank Gasparro, was minted from 1971 to 1978. This was the first time the U.S. Mint had struck a dollar coin since the discontinuation of the Peace Dollar series in 1935. This set of 10 includes 5 of the 1976-S Silver Bicentennial Eisenhower Dollar and 5 of the final-year-of-issue 1978-S Eisenhower Dollar, both in near-perfect Proof 69 Ultra Cameo condition. The Bicentennial issue was not only a one-year-only design but was also the final silver clad issue. While 11 proof Ikes were struck over the entire series, only 5 of them were struck with 40% silver. To add to the quality of these stunning Eisenhower Dollars, they are housed in Rick Tomaska’s Signature Series holder. These renowned holders are only given to Eisenhower Dollars that Rick Tomaska has inspected and deemed to exhibit the highest quality luster and eye appeal for their date and grade. Both of these coins have PF69 UCAM populations less than 1% of their respective mintages and Tomaska Signature Series populations of 100 coins or fewer. With such low populations and so few achieving Tomaska Signature Series status, each of these Proof Eisenhower Dollars are considered a Condition Rarity.
