Description

The Indian Head Gold Half Eagle, designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, was minted from 1908 to 1916 and once again in 1929. This innovative sunken relief design is the first and only of its kind, making this US coin among the most treasured to ever be struck. This specific Indian Head Half Eagle was struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1911 and is graded in Mint State 62 condition. Out of every 1911-P Indian Head Gold Half Eagle struck, less than 1% have been graded in MS62 condition. With a minuscule mintage of only 915,000 examples and such a low Mint State 62 population, this coin is a stunning Absolute and Condition Rarity.
