- The US Mint began the Presidential Dollar series in 2007
- The American presidents are honored after their passing in the order that they served
- From 2005 to 2010, coins sold in Special Mint Sets had distinctive satin finishes
- This 2008 Andrew Jackson Presidential Dollar was part of the Special Mint Set
- Presidential Dollars struck from 2007 to 2010 have a lettered edge reading “• 2007 P E PLURIBUS UNUM • IN GOD WE TRUST”
- As the lettered edge is applied in a separate step from the initial striking, some coins are missing this element
- Missing Edge Lettering coins are generally much rarer than their standard counterparts
- Absolute Rarity: Only a minuscule 745,464 Special Mint Sets were struck
