Set of 2: 1976-S & 1978-S Silver Eisenhower Dollars NGC PF69 Star UCAM Tomaska Signature I Like Ike Label

Description

The Eisenhower Dollar, designed by Frank Gasparro, was minted from 1971 to 1978. This was the first Dollar coin series the U.S. Mint had struck since the discontinuation of the Peace Dollar series in 1935. This set of two Proof San Francisco struck Eisenhower Dollars includes one example of the Silver Bicentennial issue and one example from the final year of issue, each graded in Proof 69 Star Ultra Cameo condition. While 11 proof Ikes were struck over the entire series, only 5 of them were struck with 40% silver. The 1976-S included with this set is one of those few proof issues to be struck from silver. To add to the quality of these stunning Eisenhower Dollars, they will be housed in Rick Tomaska's hand-signed exclusive NGC ''I Like Ike'' holder. These renowned holders are only given to Eisenhower Dollars that Rick Tomaska has inspected and deemed to exhibit the highest quality luster and eye appeal for their date and grade. Only 105 examples of the 1976-S Ike and just 13 examples of the 1978-S Ike have been graded in PF69 Star CAM condition and housed in Rick Tomaska's hand-signed holders, making each of these coins a Condition Rarity.
