Set of 11: 1955-1964 Lincoln Cents NGC PF69RD Includes 1960 Small and Large Date

Description

The Lincoln Cent, designed by Victor David Brenner, began its mintage in 1909 and continues to be minted to this day. The year 1959 marked the first year of issue for the Lincoln Memorial Reverse on the Lincoln Cent, which was designed by Frank Gasparro. Prior to 1959 the original Wheat Ears Reverse was displayed on every Lincoln Cent. This set of stunning Lincoln Cents spans the end of the iconic Wheat Ears Reverse into the beginning of the Lincoln Memorial Reverse. Each of the eleven Lincoln Cents in this set were struck at the Philadelphia Mint and have been graded in Proof 69 Red condition. In 1960, there were two varieties of the Lincoln Cent produced relating to the date on the obverse. These varieties are known as the Large Date and Small Date varieties. This set includes examples of both the 1960 Large Date and 1960 Small Date Lincoln Cent. Every Lincoln Cent in this set has a Proof 69 Red population of less than 1% of their respective mintages and with such low PF69RD populations, all 11 of these Lincoln Cents are considered Condition Rarities.
