In the scene that this drawing was used for, Briar Rose is elated due to her having met a mysterious man in the forest who she believes to be her soulmate. She is immediately made aware that she is a princess who has been living her 16 years of life as a peasant. This news is devastating to her because she has been betrothed to Prince Phillip since her birth, and thus, is unable to follow through with her plans to continue her life with this man who she had met in the forest.
