The Washington Quarter was introduced in 1932 in order to honor the bicentennial of Washington`s birthday. Between NGC and PCGS, MS66+ 1946-P Washington Quarters only have a population of 34. Out of the 53,000,000 Washington Quarters minted in 1946, only 134 of them are graded higher than this example! The highly recognizable obverse and reverse were both designed by John Flannigan. The obverse boasts golden sunshine toning with hints of baby blue along the rim while the head of Washington is speckled with orange sherbet and magenta coloring. Along the entire rim of the reverse as well as on the right wing of the eagle is deep golden toning and gentle yellow highlights.
