One of the most popularly collected series in U.S. Numismatics is the Washington Quarter. Originally intended to be a one-year commemorative of the 200th Anniversary of George Washington`s birth, the Washington Quarter was first struck in 1932 and remains minted to the present day. From 1932 to 1964 the Washington Quarter was struck in 90% silver. After 1964, a new alloy was used that eliminated the silver. This 1939 Washington Quarter was minted in Philadelphia and has been graded MS67+ by NGC.
