.01 1947-S Lincoln Cents NGC/PCGS MS66RD

Struck in San Francisco

Product Code: C2902
This vibrant red 1947 Lincoln Cent was struck at the San Francisco Mint and is just as stunning as the day it was minted. Victor D. Brenner designed this Lincoln cent in 1909 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln`s birth. The earliest coins of 1909 displayed Brenner`s initials on the reverse however, this was soon discontinued. His initials would be restored in 1918 on the obverse of Lincoln`s shoulder next to the rim. This coin not only contains Brenner`s initials on the reverse but is also from the Variety 1 bronze type which features two stylized ears of wheat. Struck in San Francisco this spectacular example is vibrant red and in MS66 condition.
