Indian Head Cent

The Indian Head Cent, designed by James B. Longacre, was produced from 1859-1909. The coin was minted exclusively at the Philadelphia Mint except for in 1908 and 1909 when it was minted at the San Francisco Mint as well. The obverse of the coin displays Lady Liberty wearing an Indian headdress, whereas the reverse depicts the denomination "one cent" surrounded by a laurel wreath.
