Out of the 13,188,202 Franklin Half Dollars that were struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1954 there are very few to have survived in such brilliant condition. In fact, the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) has only graded 23 1954-P Franklin Half Dollars at an MS66 FBL with none higher. An FBL, or Full Bell Line, designation is given to only a limited amount of Franklin Half Dollars with the clearest of strikes. This is determined by observing that there are no imperfections in the bell lines on the reverse of the coin. As a testament to this Franklin Half Dollar`s eye appeal, Rick Tomaska has personally reviewed it and awarded it with an Everest Seal of Approval. An Everest Seal is only given to coins that Rick finds to have the greatest eye appeal for their years.
