Civil War Navy Pistol Box 5.5" x 5"

This pistol box was made in the Navy Yard of New York and used during the Civil War between 1861 to 1865. This pistol box is in very good condition for its age, as it showcases supple leather that has no significant drying or cracking. It has the original ammunition tin and its embossed serial number, which is entirely discernable. There is a marking etched into the inside flap of the pistol box, which is likely the name of the soldier who owned it.
