Coming from a background that included working at his parents’ restaurant, Ed Moy said that there is no career path to becoming the Director of the Mint. He had a fascination with coins as a child, seeing Mercury Dimes and Wheat Pennies in the cash register at his parents’ restaurant. With a career that went from waiter to White House Special Assistant and finally to 38th Director of the U.S. Mint.
