This specific example has been graded in Mint State 65 condition and comes from the SS Central America shipwreck. Out of all 1857-S Liberty Head Double Eagles struck, only 1103 examples have been graded in MS65 condition with only 352 finer known examples. With so few examples graded higher than this one, this stunning coin is among the finest known examples of the issue.
