1795 Draped Bust, Small Eagle Dollar NGC MS65
As the second design of the silver dollar in the history of the United States, the Draped Bust Dollar is a numismatic treasure. This 1795 example comes from the first year of issue and features the small eagle reverse, which was only displayed until 1798. In addition, this example features the centered bust and comes from the Bareford Collection. Out of the scant 42,738 examples struck, only 2 have been graded in unheard of Mint State 65 condition with just one example graded higher in MS66 condition. With a minuscule mintage and so few graded MS65 or higher, this 1795 Draped Bust Silver Dollar is not only an Absolute and Condition Rarity, but it is also one of the finest known.
