1787 Fugio Cent PCGS AU55

On April 21, 1787, the Fugio Cent was officially authorized by Congress, making it the first officially issued  piece of U.S. coinage. Designed by Benjamin Franklin, one of the most important men in our nation’s history, the Fugio Cent is considered a vital piece of United States numismatic history. With no official figures for the Fugio Cent, there is no telling how many were minted, but some estimates suggest as little as 400,000 were struck. Out of the limited amount of Fugio Cents struck, PCGS has only graded 108 coins in About Uncirculated 55 condition, making it a tremendous Conditional Rarity. This historic Fugio Cent was placed with a satisfied client by Rare Collectibles TV’s Private Advisory Coin Team.
