2019-W ATB Lowell Quarter NGC MS63

The America the Beautiful Washington Quarter series began in 2010 and will continue until at least 2021. These stunning coins depict symbols of America’s national parks on the reverse while the obverse still showcases the bust of our first President George Washington, designed by John Flannagan. The Lowell National Historic Park Quarter was designed by Joel Iskowitz and depicts a woman working in the mills of Lowell, Massachusetts. This is the first America the Beautiful Quarter struck at the West Point Mint. This specific example has been graded Mint State 63 condition by NGC and features a “First Week Great American Coin Hunt” label.

The Great American Coin Hunt was an event put on by the American Numismatic Association for their National Coin Week. The United States Mint contributed to this treasure hunt for the first time by issuing quarter dollars struck at the West Point Mint with a “W” mintmark. Each coin is only available through circulation and has a mintage limited to two million coins, or about 1% of the total mintage of 2019-dated quarters. These coins were mixed in with other quarters before they left the Mint, making them difficult to find in any condition.
