2016-W 1/10 oz 24K Gold Mercury Dime NGC/PCGS SP70 - Coins
The Gold Centennial Mercury Dime, based on Adolph A. Weinman’s original design, was specially struck in 2016 to honor the 100th anniversary of its introduction to American coinage. Marking the first time that the U.S. Mint contracted outside artists for designs, the Mercury Dime was part of the American Coin Renaissance. Started by President Theodore Roosevelt, the American Coin Renaissance was marked by stunning designs created by well-known artists. Struck from .999 fine gold, this 1/10 oz coin is slightly smaller than the original “Winged Liberty” dime and has been graded in perfect Specimen 70 condition. With a miniscule mintage of only 124,885 examples, this coin is an Absolute Rarity.
