It is incredibly rare to find a Mint State example of this series in perfect condition as they were not specially handled after striking. Out of every 1986 ¼oz American Gold Eagle struck, only 1,106 have achieved a perfect grade of Mint State 70 condition. To add to the rarity of this coin, it has been housed in the RCTV exclusive Reagan Pop Art holder, paying tribute to President Ronald Reagan. With a minuscule mintage of only 726,031 coins and such a low MS70 population, this coin is not only an Absolute and Condition Rarity, but is also among the finest known.
