1976-S Kennedy Silver Half Dollar Proof

The Kennedy Half Dollar, designed by Gilroy Roberts and Frank Gasparro, began its mintage in 1964 and continues to be struck to this day.  In 1975 and 1976, the United States Mint released  special issues of the Washington Quarter, Kennedy Half Dollar, and the Eisenhower Dollar  to celebrate the American Bicentennial.  These coins are each dated ''1776-1976'' to celebrate the year that America signed the Declaration of Independence as well as the country's 200-year anniversary.  Struck from 90% pure silver, this  proof  Kennedy  Half Dollar  was struck at the San Francisco Mint.  These limited production designs were only struck in 1975 and 1976, making them a unique addition to any collection.
