1951 Franklin Half Dollar NGC PF67UCAM RT 6

Description

The Franklin Half Dollar, designed by John R. Sinnock, was minted from 1948 to 1963. The Proof issues of the Franklin Half Dollar would not commence until two years later in 1950. This Franklin Half Dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint during the second year of Franklin Proof production and has been graded Proof 67 Ultra Cameo with RT-6 classification. Out of the only 57,500 Proof Franklins struck in 1951, only 12 examples have been graded PF67 UCAM and this is the only one classified RT-6 by NGC. The RT classification specifies that this Franklin Half Dollar has been struck with a die that Rick Tomaska has identified as giving the most eye appealing and lustrous strike. With a minuscule mintage and so few examples in PF67 UCAM condition, this 1951 Franklin Half Dollar is both a tremendous Absolute and Condition Rarity. To tie it all together, this coin will come with the NGC exclusive “We the People” label, which is a collaborative effort between Rick Tomaska and NGC. These renowned labels are only given to Franklin Half Dollars that Rick Tomaska has inspected and deemed to exhibit the highest quality luster and eye appeal for their year and grade.
