Description
The Lincoln Cent, designed by Victor David Brenner, began its mintage in 1909 and continues to be minted to this day. Due to the need for copper during WWII, Lincoln Cents produced in 1943 were composed of steel with a coating of zinc. This specific one-year-only type was struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1943 and has been graded in Mint State 66 condition. Out of all 1943-S Lincoln Cents struck, significantly less than 1% have been graded in Mint State 66 condition. With such a low MS66 population, this 1943-S Lincoln Cent is a tremendous Condition Rarity.
