Description
The original Washington Quarter, designed by John Flannagan, was minted from 1932 to 1999 before the design was modified. This specific example was struck at the Denver Mint in 1939 and has been graded in Mint State 65 condition. Washington Quarters minted before 1964, like this example, were struck from 90% silver. Out of all 1939-D Washington Quarters struck, significantly less than 1% have been graded in Mint State 65 condition. With such a low MS65 population, this example is a tremendous Condition Rarity.
