The original Washington Quarter, designed by John Flanagan, was minted from 1932 to 1998 before the design was modified. This specific example was struck at the Denver Mint in 1937 and has been graded in Mint State 65 condition. Washington Quarters minted before 1964, like this example, were struck from 90% silver. Out of all 1937-D Washington Quarters struck, significantly less than 1% have been graded in Mint State 65 condition with just 768 examples graded higher. With such a low MS65 population and so few examples graded higher, this coin is a tremendous Condition Rarity.
