Description
The Liberty Head Gold Half Eagle, designed by Christian Gobrecht, was minted from 1839 to 1908. One of the longest lasting denominations in United States history, the Liberty Head Gold Half Eagle is the only coin struck at all seven Mints. This turn of the century example was struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1899 and is graded in Mint State 63 condition. Out of all 1899-P Liberty Head Gold Half Eagles struck, less than 1% have been graded MS63 making this example a tremendous Condition Rarity.
